A Little About Me

I’m Brian, boat education specialist, founder of Easy Skipper’s Tickets in Mandurah and creator of a unique online training for the Skipper’s Theory test. I’m dedicated to putting more safe skippers on the water and sharing my passion for boating and fishing with the community.

When I first launched my business Boat-Ed (now Easy Skipper’s Tickets) I felt like the luckiest bloke alive, calling my hobby my ‘work’. Because it never feels like work…I spend time on the water, meeting amazing people from 14 to 96 and helping them develop their skills and confidence to become skippers too.

An Easier Way to Learn

Now it’s my mission to bring an easier way to learn the theory test to people who, like me, do not find studying easy. Whether there are issues with dyslexia, concentrating or retaining information, I want to make more opportunities for them. Everyone deserves a fair go to pursue their boating passion and have the right support to pass the theory test. And that’s why I created the Online WA Skipper’s Ticket Video Course that is fun and easy to follow.

Years Past

I have been involved in recreational boating all my life. My family and I have been going to sea to catch fish since I can remember. The recreational skippers ticket was not law back when we first started boating so like most things in life, we learnt from our mistakes. Many things can go wrong when boating and often do if you have not been trained well. To minimize things going wrong is to firstly get educated or it will cost money in repairs.

Boating is my passion so my choice to teach people was made easy when I noticed that people clearly didn’t know the rules of the water and skill levels were very low when I observed people skippering all size vessels. I myself have learnt from the best at Challenger Tafe in Fremantle and the guys at the education boat shed in East Fremantle. My aim is to teach as many people as I can the correct way and make a small difference in the boating community. Teaching school groups is a great way as quite often after the school student has been taught the correct way, they then teach their new found skills to their parents.
