About Me
Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Brian, a boat education specialist and the founder of Easy Skipper’s Ticket in Mandurah. My passion for boating and fishing has led me to create a unique online training program for the Skipper’s Theory test. My ultimate goal is to ensure that more skippers are equipped with the necessary knowledge to navigate the waters safely.
When I first embarked on my journey with Boat-Ed, which has now become Easy Skipper’s Ticket, I felt incredibly fortunate to be able to turn my hobby into my profession. It never feels like work to me because I get to spend my time on the water, meeting incredible individuals ranging from 14 to 96 years old, and assisting them in honing their skills and confidence to become skilled skippers themselves.
An Better Way to Learn
My current mission is to provide an easier way for individuals who struggle with studying, much like myself, to learn the theory test. Whether it’s dyslexia, difficulty concentrating, or retaining information, I want to create more opportunities for those facing these challenges. Everyone deserves a fair chance to pursue their passion for boating and receive the necessary support to pass the theory test. That’s precisely why I developed the Online WA Skipper’s Ticket Video Course, which is not only informative but also enjoyable to follow.
Years Gone By
My lifelong involvement in recreational boating has shaped my love for the sea. Ever since I can recall, my family and I have been venturing out to catch fish. During those early days, the recreational skipper’s ticket wasn’t a legal requirement, so we learned from our mistakes, just like in any other aspect of life. Boating can be unpredictable, and without proper training, things can easily go awry, resulting in costly repairs.
Given my passion for boating, it was a natural choice for me to teach others when I noticed a lack of knowledge regarding water regulations and low skill levels among skippers of all vessel sizes. I had the privilege of learning from exceptional instructors at Challenger Tafe in Fremantle and the education boat shed in East Fremantle. My objective is to impart my knowledge to as many individuals as possible, ensuring they learn the correct way to navigate the waters and make a positive impact on the boating community. Teaching school groups is particularly rewarding because often, after students are equipped with the necessary knowledge, they pass it on to their parents, creating a ripple effect of proper boating practices.
